Some people believe that the end of the world will occur, others that we will be plagued by disasters. There are many views and opinions, some even think that we will enter a new age of enlightenment. What is fascinating about this year is the fact that the Mayan calendar ends on December 21,2012. They were a very advanced civilization, whose calendar was more accurate than what we use today, they were astronomers who charted the stars thousands of years before the telescope was even invented. They were the first to use zero as a number. So what does the end of their calendar mean ?
I remember all the hoopla that was going around prior to the year 2000. Computers would go wacko, the world would end,etc.. what happened then? Nothing.
So what will happen now?

Will the economy in the U.S. ever improve?
Our economy has been steadily declining. What are some of the root causes?
In general we are spending less money, and down sizing which in turn just makes things worse. More people are looking for jobs and willing to take less to be competitive. This leads to even less spending. In order to make more money since less are spending money merchants are raising their prices. This in turn causes other merchants that require supplies or are a reseller to increase their prices as well. For instance, the cost of a barrel of oil will increase the price of gas you see at the pumps. This will subsequently increase prices for travelers, and goods that require transporting. Lets take the case of a mom and pop grocery store, that is if you can find one left. They already have no way to compete against the competition. The truck that delivers their products for resale will have to increase delivery and mom and pop will have to pass that on to you. If they don't then they are out of business. They also have kids to feed and to put through school. In most households nowadays both mom and pop must work to bring enough income for the family. Image just a single person trying to raise a family and childcare services, and school, and shelter, a field trips, and books. As you can see the problem just escalates.
Looking for the cause is all good, but one needs to find a solution for all, and not a temporary solution which can make things worse.
Do you have a solution?
